Often leaders of organizations look at technology as a support service and don’t want to spend the money necessary to mitigate these problems. A simple off-site backup of critical data would have allowed recovery without paying the ransom. Sorry employees, but your boss was not kept aware of the dangers and practices that would have kept this from happening.
