Balaji – thanks for this listing. Some new names (to me at least). One feature I’d like to see covered next time is whether they allow/support connecting via VPNs.

I wouldn’t have thought this an issue, but it is with StartPage. I ended up dropping it in favor of DuckDuckGo.

you can do without a vpn. plus most domains are ssl secured. VPNs like Ivacy and nord can be very helpful when unblock Netflix US and other websites/apps/services but when it comes to security, a lot of what gets said is ust overselling IMHO.

This is an excellent article and I’m surprised that DNS-based attacks don’t get more focus, with more than 80% of cyber attacks using DNS at some stage of the kill chain. Funnily enough we recently saw a DNS flood ‘attack’ that was actually generated accidentally generated by IP phones dialling up to a STUN server 22 million times. Crazy stuff.

Nothing new here. If police or government has your physical phone they can make forensic image and process that – provided they can decrypt the phone, or it might not be. Everything stored on your phone like whatsapp, text, fb, pictures, call history etc. will be part of the image. This does not mean that Signal can intercepted in transit and decrypted
